The worst of the weather passed us by and we drove through wind & rain to arrive in Appledore in sunshine. Having unloaded luggage, it was down to a very windy beach for fun and games- no swimming unfortunately- which we almost had to ourselves. Back at Skern Lodge, we settled into our rooms and after a hearty tea, evening activities followed- a "night walk" or a scavenger hunt. Before long it was bedtime, and many of the children were soon fast asleep- we were very impressed how quickly so many went to sleep so quickly- unusual for a first night!
Photos have been uploaded to Flickr but the web connection was very slow indeed last night, so some more will follow this morning, all being well.
