A very heavy Pumpkin!

The Juniors brought back an enormous and very heavy pumpkin from the school organic garden a couple of weeks ago, and it has been the subject of a 'guess the weight' competition in the Junior foyer. The winners are shown above with the mighty trophy, which weighed in at 9.75kg! Congratulations to Juliet, who was the closest pupil guess at 10kg (though rumour has it that Mr Kirk guessed it exactly!).

Up up and away...

This hot-air balloon was spotted from the Junior classrooms' windows early this morning- we thought Sir Richard Branson might be dropping in, but it appeared to be landing somewhere towards Grandborough!

Today is 'Talk like a Pirate' day! The UK HQ has some information.

To get you in the mood...

Swan Lake

The boating pond was graced with a visit from a pair of swans. Intrepid photographer Michael managed to snap this photo.

A good first week...

It has been good to see the Juniors settle so quickly to the prep school routine, and at the end of the first week, they have experienced most of their timetable and activities.

From Bilton Grange Juniors

The weather hasn't always been kind, so boilersuits have seen plenty of use at playtime, but the children have also had time to experience a concert given by some of the visiting music staff, learn some music for the upcoming harvest service and even an early look at the songs for the Christmas production!

From Bilton Grange Juniors

They have also been out on the games field for netball and rugby, and in the swimming pool.

Our Tudor visit to Holdenby House is fast approaching, and you should have received a letter via the children's book bags with a permission slip to return.

The music timetable for the coming week has also been published, and can be seen here

Leonard the Parrot

Leonard the parrot has been missing from his home in Bristol for four days, but has safely returned- he seems to be a very talented bird!
